The public is cordially invited to attend the graduation ceremony for the Munising High School Class of 2020 this Saturday, June 13th at noon at Mustang Stadium!
If you are planning attending, here are a few details you should be aware of:
Seating: In order to maintain social distancing, the graduates will sit in the stands, and the audience will sit in the football field area, anywhere inside the track. Please bring a lawn chair to sit on. No chairs will be provided.
Social Distancing: Per CDC guidelines, residents of the same household may sit together in the football field area, but must stay at least 6 feet apart from other groups. The large area inside the track should allow for safe social distancing for everyone.
Parking: If you are unable to walk up to the stadium, limited parking will be allowed in the area behind the bleachers. National Honor Society students will be in attendance to direct vehicles to the designated area. Spectators can enter the field through the open area of the fence to the south of the stands or to the north of the LeVeque building. The parking area will open at 11:00am.
Restrooms: The women’s restroom in the Timothy LeVeque Building will be open for use, and the men’s restroom in the garage on the north end of the field will be open for use. Sanitary wipes, alcohol spray, hand sanitizer/soap, masks, etc. will be available for your use.
Masks: It is recommended that if social distancing cannot be maintained, such as when using a restroom, masks need to be worn. Please bring a mask if you think you will need one.
Parade: There will be a “Parade of Graduates” following the ceremony. Following time to take photos after graduation, the graduates will line up in their vehicles for a parade down to the Munising High School parking lot. The parade route will go down Park Street to Jewell Street, west on Jewell to Elm Street, north on Elm to Onota Street, west on Onota to Spruce Street, north on Spruce to Superior Street, east on Superior to Birch Street, north on Birch to M-28, and west on M-28 to the high school parking lot.
Weather forecast, and back-up date: The forecast for Saturday at noon in Munising is 55 degrees with a 5 mph north wind, so please dress appropriately. If we have rain, we will consider postponing until Sunday at 1:00pm. We will not postpone due to cold weather.
