COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan

Governor Whitmer’s Executive Order 2020-142 requires that school districts adopt a COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan laying out how schools will safely provide an education for students across the various phases of the Michigan Safe Start Plan.

The Munising Public Schools Board of Education approved the attached plan on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. The plan adopts the required components and strongly recommended components of the Return to School Roadmap for each phase of the Michigan Safe Start Plan. With the Upper Peninsula region currently being in phase 5, Munising Public Schools students will start the school year with the safety protocols in place beginning on page 10 of the plan. There will also be an online option for students who choose to not come back into the school buildings.

We are also working on a Frequently Asked Questions document to provide further clarification and details. Thank you for your patience.

If you have any questions regarding the plan, please contact Pete Kelto at the Middle/High School at 387-2103, extension 2104, or DeeJay Paquette at Mather Elementary at 387-2103, extension 1137.
