GRADUATION INFORMATION

GRADUATION INFORMATION

The public is cordially invited to attend the graduation ceremony for the Munising High School Class of 2021 this Saturday, May 29th at noon at Mustang Stadium!

If you are planning on attending, here are a few details regarding the outdoor graduation:
Seating:  In order to accommodate enough spectators, the graduates will sit in the stands, and the audience will sit in the football field area, anywhere inside the track.  Please bring your own lawn chair to sit on.

Masks:  Per the latest MDHHS Epidemic Order, masks are no longer required outdoors. MDHHS strongly recommends that individuals continue to wear face masks while in crowded spaces outdoors, especially individuals who are not yet fully vaccinated.  Please bring a mask if you think you will need one.

Social Distancing:  Spectators should still try and social distance if possible, staying at least 6 feet apart from other groups.  The football field area should allow for safe social distancing for everyone.

Parking:  Parking will be allowed in the parking lot at Mustang Stadium, and the area behind the bleachers.  National Honor Society students will be in attendance to direct vehicles to the designated parking area.  The audience should enter the field through the open area of the fence to the south of the stands or to the north of the LeVeque building. The parking area will open at 11:00am.

Restrooms:  The women’s restroom in the LeVeque Building will be open for use, and the men’s restroom in the garage on the north end of the field will be open.  Sanitary wipes, alcohol spray, hand sanitizer, masks, etc. will be available for your use.

Parade:  There will be a “Parade of Graduates” following the ceremony.  Following time to take photos after graduation, the graduates will line up in their vehicles for a parade down to the Munising Middle/High School parking lot.  The parade will begin on Elm Street in front of Mather Elementary and will go north on Elm Street to M-28 and west on M-28 to the Munising Middle/High School.

Back-up plan:  On Thursday, May 27th in the evening, based on the weather forecast for graduation day, we will determine if the event needs to be moved to the Middle/High School gymnasium.  If graduation does need to move indoors, we will be required to follow the latest MDHHS Epidemic Order and limit spectator attendance to 300 people, and each graduate will be given seven (7) tickets at graduation practice on Friday, May 28th for their relatives and friends to attend the ceremony.  The date and time of graduation will remain the same, held on Saturday, May 29th at noon.

As of the writing of this letter, the forecast for Saturday, May 29th at noon in Munising is 55 degrees and sunny.  We will continue hoping for a great weather forecast and have the graduation as planned at Mustang Stadium!

We are looking forward to honoring the Class of 2021 with a well-deserved graduation ceremony.
