From finding 3 Declans, 4 Amelias and 3 Noras… to creating secret handshakes, silly dances, hallway challenges, and unforgettable moments of laughter - our students and staff fully embraced the fun during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!
What started as a few silly challenges quickly turned into a week filled with teamwork, smiles, school spirit, and memories our students will be talking about for a long time. Watching teachers and students laugh together, encourage one another, and step outside their comfort zones reminded us just how special the Mather community truly is.
Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for being such great sports and for everything you do each and every day for our students.
And thank you to our amazing Student Leadership Team for delivering treats and appreciation throughout the week!

MUNISING PUBLIC SCHOOLS EXPRESSES GRATITUDE TO THE COMMUNITY & RESIDENTS OF MUNISING - On behalf of the Board, Administration, Staff, & Students, we are very thankful and proud of our community and honored by its support and commitment to its children and the future of the school district. We can sleep easier knowing that soon the district will be able to make facilities and equipment upgrades to Mather and the MSHS that will improve the learning and teaching environment and provide for a safer and more comfortable experience for students and staff. We are also thankful for the army of helpers on the staff and in the community that made this fourth sinking fund attempt the charm. We recognize that the economy is having an impact on everyone at this time with respect to fuel costs, food costs, and other daily living expenses, so your sacrifice through taxation is meaningful and greatly appreciated. As project planning and bidding processes begin this summer and extend into the fall, the Board and Administration will seek input and will publicly share the anticipated costs and estimated timelines to completion of the various construction projects. Current planned projects to repair Nebel Track and associated drainage systems at Mustang Stadium will break ground the week of June 1st and the long standing roof and drainage issues impacting the MSHS and the Public Library will officially begin the week of June 8th. The Track & Drainage repair project is funded through a $180K SETSEG insurance settlement relative to flash flooding that occurred in April of 2025 and the Library/Drainage Repair Project at an estimated cost of $400K is being funded by the generous donation of the late Rose Peters a long standing community member. Once repairs have been made to the Library/MSHS there will be a dedication ceremony to honor Ms. Peters for her donation with signage. IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A MUSTANG! THANK YOU MUNISING :-)

Wheel of (Not So) Misfortune – Teacher Appreciation Fun!
Some of our amazing Mather teachers dressed up like their students today & took a spin on the Wheel of (Not So) Misfortune… and let’s just say—their fate was sealed!
Mrs. Johnson (2nd Grade) was challenged to bring back 3 Declans in 3 minutes… and with the help of her students, she crushed it in 1 minute 33 seconds! (Two Declans were in the same class;)
Mrs. VanBuren (Kindergarten) had to hum 3 different tunes and get her students to guess them correctly- challenge accepted and completed!
Mr. Johnson- our other 2nd grade teacher- was sent on a mission to find 4 other Johnsons in the building in 4 minutes… and with teamwork, he completed it in 2 minutes 41 seconds!
The laughter, teamwork, and school spirit were unmatched. What a fun way to celebrate our incredible staff!
Thank you, Mather teachers, for bringing the energy, joy, and heart every single day
