This is a great opportunity for our students to build teamwork, confidence, and school pride while learning the game of football.

Congratulations to Ethan Nachazel on an incredible achievement at the Boston Marathon! Finishing with an outstanding time of 2:35:44 and earning an impressive 666th out of 16,336 Males & 696th place out of 29,020 overall- finish is a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and athletic excellence.
Running the Boston Marathon is an accomplishment in itself, qualifying, training, and competing at such a high level requires unwavering commitment. Ethan’s performance reflects not only his physical endurance, but also his mental toughness and determination to push beyond limits.
We are incredibly proud of Ethan for representing our community with such strength and pride. His achievement is an inspiration to our students and staff, reminding us all of what can be accomplished through hard work, goal setting, and never giving up.

MATHER ELEMENTARY FACILITIES PICS OF THE WEEK (APRIL 20) - VOTE MAY 5, 2026 ON THE MPS SINKING FUND BALLOT PROPOSAL. "Did you know that boilers at Mather are 33 years old which is 13 years beyond the life span rating. Since the boilers are analog (not computerized) they must be monitored and adjusted daily by hand and parts are incredibly difficult to find and often must be ordered from E-bay. Did you know that some portions of Mather still employ the use of knob and tube wiring. K&T wiring which is uninsurable in the residential setting, is an obsolete, early 1900s electrical system consisting of single-strand copper wires, ceramic knobs, and protective tubes. Did you know that some rooms and spaces at Mather are no longer usable due to the presence of leaking water which sustains moisture and mold. Did you know that Mather does NOT have functioning ventilation which was decommissioned in 1993? There is no fresh air exchange at Mather and the lack of fresh oxygenated air is known to impact the learning and health of students and staff. Cason L. reached the AR 500 Point Club and celebrated with a special pizza party in the principal’s office, where he invited his friend Everest to join the fun! A big thank you to Mrs. Berube for celebrating with us as well!
Wren K. earned a Book Vending Machine token for demonstrating Taking Responsibility and Showing Respect by picking up trash on the 3rd grade floor- without being asked. What an awesome example of leadership and kindness!

Mather Sends Off Mr. Ethan!
Today, Mather Elementary took over a block of Elm Avenue as our students ran alongside Mr. Ethan to give him a proper send-off for the Boston Marathon!
The energy, excitement, and support from our students and staff were incredible- what a powerful way to show our STANG pride and cheer on one of our very own!

Jeff Veley Visits Middle & High School Students
Today, our middle and high school students also had the opportunity to learn from Jeff Veley, who delivered a powerful message focused on resilience, conflict resolution, and personal responsibility.
Drawing from his own life experiences, Jeff helped students understand how to:
✔️ Manage emotions in challenging situations
✔️ Respond to conflict without escalating it
✔️ Build confidence and mental strength
✔️ Shift their mindset to take away the “power” from negativity
His message emphasized that reacting with anger often makes situations worse, while choosing calmness and respect can change outcomes and relationships.
Through real-life examples and relatable strategies, students were encouraged to take ownership of their actions, support one another, and develop the skills needed to navigate social challenges both in and out of school.
