MPS BOARD MEMBER VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - MAY 23, 2024
The Board of Education is seeking eligible and qualified applicants who are interested in joining the board to serve the students, staff, and community of Munising Public Schools. Interested applicants should refer to the vacancy notice pictured below.
MPS TRANSPORTATION UPDATE FOR THIS AFTERNOON (WEDS. 5/22)
The following changes are due to an afternoon athletic run for track:
No Deer Bus (5) this afternoon.
The Dinosaur Bus (2) will take Wetmore Students home plus its normal route.
The Bear Bus (3) will take the Shingleton area home plus its normal route.
MPS TRANSPORTATION UPDATE FOR AFTERNOON OF TUESDAY, MAY 21ST
Due to an out of town athletic trip, here are the busing changes this afternoon:
No Bus 2 this afternoon.
Bus 3 (Bear) will take Bus 2 Carmody Road students plus normal run.
Bus 7 (Frog) will take Bus 2 Connors Road, Miller Road, and Alger Heights; plus normal run.

DUE TO AN OUT OF TOWN TRACK MEET, THESE CHANGES PERTAIN TO THE AFTERNOON BUS RUNS:
Bus 6 (Camel) - Normal route
Bus 3 (Bear) - Normal route plus Hilltop, Carmody, Indiantown, and Shingleton.
Bus 7 (Frog) - Normal route plus Wetmore, Connors Road, Miller Road and Alger Heights.

Bus 9A (Camel), normal route
Bus 6 (Deer) , will include Bus 3 (Bear) students from Hilltop, Indiantown, & Shingleton

Bus 7 (Frog), normal route and Wetmore students.

The MPS Sinking Fund Proposal was defeated tonight on the very slimmest of margins. Thank you to all of the staff, board members, parents, business owners, and community members who helped with the campaign. We will have to go back to the drawing board for the sake of our students and the future of our school district.
LAST REMINDER - THE POLLS CLOSE IN 3 HOURS AT 8:00PM. THERE IS STILL TIME TO VOTE TODAY ON THE MPS SINKING FUND! YOUR VOTE MATTERS :-)

For the afternoon (PM) ride home today, Wetmore students will ride Bus 7 (Frog).
Shingleton/Van Meer/ Melstrand students will ride Bus 3 (Bear).
REMEMBER TO VOTE TOMORROW, TUESDAY, MAY 7TH ON THE MPS SINKING FUND BALLOT PROPOSAL. THE POLLS ARE OPEN FROM 7:00AM TO 8:00PM.

No Bus 6 (deer).
Bus 7 (Frog) will pickup/drop off Wetmore, Miller Road , South Connors Road, Alger Heights, along with Bus 7 students.
Bus 3 (Bear)will pickup/drop-off remaining Bus 6 students all with its own.
Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon will be announced the day before.

THURSDAY, MAY 2ND AFTERNOON PM BUS RUN CHANGES:
No Bus 6. Students living on Hilltop Road, Indiantown Road, Rosewood and the Golf Course are will ride Bus 10 (Dinosaur). All other Bus 6 students will ride Bus 3 (Bear).
FRIDAY, MAY 3RD MORNING AM AND AFTERNOON PM BUS RUN CHANGES:
No Bus 6. Bus 7 (Frog) will pick up and drop off Bus 3 (Bear) Wetmore students.
Bus 3 (Bear) will pick up and drop off all other Bus 6 students.

Tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, April 30th), the following adjustments will be made for the PM bus run:
There will be no Bus 3 (Bear). Bus 3 students on Hilltop Road and Indiantown Road will ride Bus 6 home. All other Bus 3 students will ride Bus 9A home. Mather staff will provide notes for affected elementary students.
