
MATHER ELEMENTARY PLAYGROUND PROJECT DONATION DRIVE
During this holiday season, please consider giving to help meet the needs of the children in our community. The Munising local and regional community has demonstrated commitment and generosity in helping the school district raise $96,371.34 toward this important project to replace the aged "Kids Connection" school and community playground across the street from Mather Elementary. We are inching our way toward the $150,000 community fundraising goal. Once this goal is reached, the Munising Public Schools will provide dollar for dollar matching funds in order to break ground this summer. Come and Enjoy a Pancake Breakfast in Support of the Munising Middle-High Schools Band Program. This fundraiser breakfast is hosted by the Rotary Club of Munising and will feature pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee, juice, and musical entertainment. MPS would like to thank you the students, parents, and community members for their generosity during last week's holiday service project fundraisers.
At Mather Elementary, $4,971.39 was raised during the Holiday Hustle Penny War for the Mather Playground Project. Mrs. DeFrancesco's class won the contest and presented the "check" to Principal Tweedale this morning!
At the Middle/High School, the student council facilitated a fundraiser with our first hour classes to collect money to have their teacher kidnapped with the funds given to our adopt a family. The student body raised $1,299.47 and Mr. Cotey's class was the overall winner.

MPS Crossing Guard Notice:
There will NOT be a crossing guard on M-28 beginning Monday, December 12th and extending through Thursday, December 22nd. Students crossing M-28 to get to the Munising Middle-High School should exercise increased caution.

Students that live in the Shingleton & Percy Road area that ride Bus #6 (Deer Bus) will need to ride Bus #3 (Bear Bus) home after school. The Shingleton area students will get home 30 to 40 minutes later than normal.
