MUNISING MIDDLE-HIGH SCHOOL & MUNISING PUBLIC LIBRARY CONTINUE TO CELEBRATE MARCH IS READING MONTH:
Ms. Nayback's College English Students created character scrapbooks about the book they are reading for her class and these are now on display in the library. Here are a few pictures of some of their projects. Thank you to Librarian, Mrs. Cromell for helping create these picture files and for setting up library displays. Book numbers at the circulation desk are on the rise for Munising. More reading means more knowledge and more success!

7TH GRADE MUSTANGS IN MS. FRANTTI'S STEM COURSE LEARN ABOUT THE MATH AND PHYSICS BEHIND BUILDING STRUCTURES.
The students pictured below were the 2 winning teams from a tower building contest in class. Students used uniformly sized small sticks or blocks to build the tall structures. The structures of all teams had to be certified by Ms. Frantti to ensure that the proper instructions were followed. STEM is an acronym that stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Students in the STEM course learn about the interplay of these 4 areas through project-based learning.

MUNISING 7TH GRADE STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT PLATE TECTONICS & GLACIATION IN MS. MCDOUGALL'S PHYSICAL SCIENCE COURSE.
Last week, students were prompted to work in teams to create props and put together short skits representing geologic activity and present them to their peers in class.

MUNISING JUNIORS & SENIORS DISSECT SHEEP BRAINS IN MS. LUDECKE'S HUMAN ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY COURSE.
Students worked in laboratory teams last week and were charged with identifying the different structures of the brain. Ms. Ludecke assessed the understanding of each group with a hands-on quiz. This is a very popular course, especially for students that have expressed interest in careers and university training in the sciences and medical fields.

BOYS IN THE BAND! ON TUESDAY, MARCH 1ST, THE MUNISING MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TRAVELED TO MARQUETTE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL TO PLAY AT THE DISTRICT FESTIVAL.
Mrs. Gaunt advised that the high school band did quite well, improving over previous years to earn a "2 rating" across the board. She is already planning to make changes that will hopefully lead to earning "1 ratings" in the near future. She also noted that the middle school band student also received good feedback from the judges that will enable them to improve.
Pictured Below: 8th Grader Ben Matzen looking sharp just prior to departure. Also pictured is a small Mustang Herd of Middle School Band Boys preparing to leave. All of the boys and girls looked very nice and represented Munising with pride.
