On Monday, September 13, 2021, two Munising Middle School students and two Munising High School students tested positive for COVID-19. Parents of a small number of students determined to be close contacts are in the process of being notified by the LMAS District Health Department.
Due to Munising Public Schools doing universal masking, the new Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Quarantine Guidance allows the students determined to be close contacts to continue attending school, providing they are symptom free and are tested for COVID-19 for seven days after contact with the COVID positive student. This only pertains to students identified as close contacts in school. Munising school personnel will administer the COVID tests at the beginning of each school day.
Munising Public Schools also began doing weekly COVID testing on all fall sports student-athletes beginning today, Monday September 13.
We thank everyone for their continued support and patience.

Engadine has forfeited the Varsity game on Friday (9/10) due to a shortage of available and/or healthy players. On the bright side, Stang Nation notches a “W” for week three. Our JV & Varsity are currently scheduled to play a doubleheader at Newberry on Thursday, Sept. 16th.

MUNISING MIDDLE HIGH SCHOOL - Chromebook laptops - update! Laptop dispersal is scheduled to occur tomorrow (9/8) in first period for grades 6-9 and any other students that do not have their own devices. Currently, and throughout the year, any students that are on quarantine and do not have a reliable computer to connect to the internet should contact Mr. Travis at mike.travis@mps-up.com to schedule a device pick up or drop off. Students on quarantine are expected to access coursework through individual teacher Google Classrooms and via Google Meet as available. Students and parents are also encouraged to email teachers as needed. Flexibility and amnesty in submitting late coursework will be afforded to students in quarantine.

ATTENTION GIRLS TENNIS: There will be NO tennis this Friday, September 10th. Ishpeming-Westwood canceled the match. We are tentatively looking at a reschedule on 9/22 if they are available.
