Munising Girls Varsity Tennis Update: The Kingsford Invitational tomorrow (Friday 8/27) has been canceled due to expected poor weather conditions. The team will compete next at Escanaba on 9/1 @ 4:00pm.

Mustangs "Meet The Team" is tonight (Thur 8/26) at 6:00pm in the Middle/High School Gymnasium. Fall Coaches & Athletes at all levels including Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity will be recognized. Fall athletes and parents of athletes are strongly encouraged to attend. The public is welcome.

Come and join the official kickoff to the Fall Sports Season and meet our coaches, athletes, and teams. UPDATE - Varsity Girls Tennis: Per a request from Gladstone, the tennis match initially scheduled for this Thursday 8/26 (12:00) at Gladstone has been rescheduled for Tuesday 9/7 (4:00pm) at Gladstone.

UPDATE - Varsity Girls Tennis Players & Fans - Munising will NOT be participating in the Kingsford Tennis Invitational on Friday 8/20. The team plays next week on Wednesday 8/25 at Gwinn (11:00am) and on Thursday 8/26 (12:00) at Gladstone.

Attention Varsity Girls Tennis Players & Fans:
The varsity match scheduled for tomorrow (Weds. 8/18) at Kingsford High School has been canceled due to court availability. However, the Munising Girls Varsity Tennis team will be tentatively playing in the 6 team Kingsford Invitational this Friday, August 20th at 9:00am CST (10:00am EST). The flights will consist of matches of 1-4 singles and 1-4 doubles. The details will be confirmed prior to Friday. All practices are held at the high school.
Please keep in mind that every student athlete needs to have their physical and pay to play turned in BEFORE they can practice. Every student athlete should be hydrated before practice and bring their own water bottle to practice.
For Middle School Football players, please bring a padlock with you to practice.

For all Munising Public Schools' student-athletes, Thursday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 7 has been designated as the Summer "Dead Period." No open gyms, conditioning programs or weight training may be conducted on school premises, either individually or as a team, during the dead period.

On Monday, May 24, 2021, a Munising Middle School student tested positive for COVID-19. Parents of students determined to be close contacts are in the process of being notified and students will be following quarantine protocols.
Quarantined students are required to attend all classroom Google Meets that are available for virtual attendance.

The start time for the Munising High School Academic Awards Program scheduled for this evening, Wednesday, May 19th, has been changed from 7:00pm to 7:30pm. The event takes place in the Middle/High School gymnasium.

Munising Public Schools continues to work closely with the LMAS District Health Department to monitor the safety of our students and staff. Quarantined students are required to attend all classroom Google Meets that are available for virtual attendance.

On Thursday, May 13, 2021 Munising Public Schools was notified by the LMAS District Health Department that a Mather Elementary fifth grade student tested positive for COVID-19. Based on discussion with the health department, one section of 5th grade students have been determined to be close contacts and will transition to remote learning for the next two weeks. Parents of the students determined to be close contacts are in the process of being notified and students will be following quarantine protocols. The students will return to school on Monday, May 24th. Chromebooks and class materials are being sent home with the students and remote learning will begin on Monday, May 17th.
Munising Public Schools continues to work closely with the LMAS District Health Department to monitor the health and safety of our students.

For those of you that drop off students in the morning at the Middle/High School, the section of the circle drive closest to the main entrance will be blocked off with prom tents beginning sometime on Wednesday, May 12. Please drive along the lake section of the circle drive and drop students off near the corner of the gymnasium. The area will be clear again on Monday, May 17. Sorry for any inconvenience.
